Calls for Performing Artists
The Asian Arts Initiative, a community arts center in Philadelphia,
is always seeking artists and ideas for upcoming performance seasons.
By hosting multi-disciplinary performances and film screenings, we hope
to initiate dialogue about community issues and showcase Asian American
artists in disciplines including spoken word, music, dance, film, and
theater.

We are especially interested in work that will raise relevant issues
and spark discussion in Asian American communities. Themes in the past
have included: Art as Resistance; Live Traditions, Contemporary Issues;
Queer N' Asian; Women of Color, Women of Conscience. Past performers
have included: Noel Alumit; Maura Nguyen Donohue; Suheir Hammad; I Was
Born With Two Tongues; Karmacy; Yellow Rage; Denise Uyehara.
To be considered as a performer for our season, please send us:
