Mixed media (graphite, watercolor, charcoal, collage, shipping tags)
48" x 84"

Shipping Labels references the tags attached to transcontinental luggage and parcels of peoples’ personal belongings sent to other places, as well as the metaphorical categorization of people. In reality, labels do not capture the complexity and diversity of being we all experience. Through this installation Lee hopes to re-create this tension between the bureaucratic structure of labeling and the unsystematic reality of human individuality.
