The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) received 215 eligible applications for its 2022 OUR TOWN funding and named Asian Arts Initiative’s (AAI) THE CUT: ECO/SYSTEMS: LAND BASED INITIATIVES as one of 51 recommended projects.

OUR TOWN projects are partnerships between cultural organizations and local government entities. Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, entrusted by city residents to activate historic treasures; Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), the regional public transportation authority; the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE), committed to equitable support of culture and creativity throughout the city’s neighborhoods; and The Friends of the Rail Park will work with AAI to transform three miles of unused rail lines (THE CUT) into a usable, beautiful, public space for all in the heart of Philadelphia.

Thank you for your part in AAI being able to compete for this highly prestigious award. Each time you attended an event/exhibition, hosted a workshop, sought out a partnership, liked an Instagram post, or gave dollars toward a project you became part of the AAI community.
