Our work is of and for our neighborhood.

In partnership with our neighbors, Asian Arts Initiative produces art that fuels collective action for change on our streets.

Current Partnerships:

Parks for Chinatown

Parks for Chinatown activates our neighborhood parks with free, family-friendly programming during the summer months. This is a partnership between Asian Arts Initiative, Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation, and Friends of the Rail Park that began in Spring 2019.

Past Partnerships:

The Shared Spaces 共享空間 Program

Shared Spaces 共享空間 launched in Fall 2018 in response to community concerns about the growing scarcity of affordable space in the neighborhood. This pilot program offered a variety of spaces at a low-or-no cost to cultural groups, immigrants and artists based in the Callowhill/Chinatown North/Chinatown area. By activating a cooperative of local facilities, this program successfully coordinated a community-led redistribution of space and resources in a neighborhood where rent continues to skyrocket.
