Ahalia Persaud

Ahalia Persaud is an Indo-Guyanese writer born in Queens and raised in Brooklyn, NYC whose work explores family dynamics, identity and diaspora politics. Her practice has been supported by workshops and residencies from the Lewis Latimer House Museum, NY Writers Coalition, Sackett Street Writers, but also public libraries, teachers, writing groups, friends and family.

Ahalia is currently working as an arts administrator, community advocate and her family’s archivist. If she’s not blasting music through her car stereo, she’s reading a book while riding the subway. She is an MFA writing school dropout.
