Filipino native, Annielille Gavino, danced professionally with the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble and Dallas Black Dance Theater. She worked with legendary choreographers, Katherine Dunham, Donald McKayle, Eleo Pomare, Diane McIntyre, Alonzo King, Ronald K. Brown, Chuck Davis, Kunyanglin, Milton Myers and more. Currently, Annielille is a freelance movement artist and choreographer. Her works have been commissioned by Dance Place, Fleisher Art Memorial, Barnes Foundation, funded by Small But Mighty Arts Grant, Pew Center for the Arts and Humanities, and more. As a dance maker, Gavino uses dance as a storytelling element for resistance, representation and passage to spiritual journeys.
