Damien Scalise

Damien Scalise is a guitarist, improviser, composer and performer originally from Utica, NY but who now resides in Philadelphia, PA.
A graduate of Ithaca College ('13) and New England Conservatory ('15), he has studied under legendary jazz artists and improvisers like Branford Marsalis, Dave Holland, Steve Brown, Joe Morris and Anthony Coleman.
Equally adept in improvised genres as he is in rock and songwriting, Damien has previously performed across the country as the bassist of Ian Sweet, guitarist and primary songwriter of Sun Young, and now performs with the bands Maneka and Smile Machine.
Influenced by the past, present and future, Damien seeks to create a clear link between the soul and the strings.
