Sophie Dipti Sarkar

Sophie Sarkar (she/her) is an artist and community organizer based on the ancestral lands of the Lenni Lenape in what is now called Philadelphia. Both her art and organizing exist at the intersection of climate justice and racial healing and in both she works in community with other black, indigenous, and people of color to heal and deepen our relationships with each other, with our ancestors, and with the Earth. Sophie co-founded PGM ONE, one of the largest racial affinity spaces in the environmental movement, and Interwoven, a Black and Asian Solidarities Series. She has recently collaborated on projects featured at SOMArts San Francisco (2019), the South London Gallery (2021), and is currently working on her second children's book.
