"Someone who has an objective perspective to the U.S. environment”… I’m interested in the embodied and social experience of diaspora as I live in this country. It’s this duality of home and belonging, and how one experiences the social and political state of this country with a global and dual-cultural perspective. That can happen by comparison or by juggling two sets of cultural ideologies or by daily experience of being a perceived foreigner at home. So, when I say objective perspective, I mean someone whose perspective is not culturally or nationally singular, and who can look at what’s happening in the U.S. with slight distance.
