I Am An Artist: Barbara Tran

Barbara Tran is the author of the poetry chapbook In the Mynah Bird's Own Words. Her honors include a MacDowell Colony Fellowship, Bread Loaf Scholarship, Pushcart Prize, and Lannan Foundation Writing Residency. Longlisted for the 2018 CBC Nonfiction Prize, Barbara is indebted to Hedgebrook for radical hospitality at a crucial time, and to the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council for essential support. In 2020, Barbara’s writing will appear in Bennington Review, Canthius, Cincinnati Review, The New Quarterly, Ploughshares, and Poetry. Born in New York City, Barbara is a dual citizen of the USA and Canada. So Long is her first foray into film.
