When developers for the Philadelphia 76ers proposed a new arena near Chinatown, the neighborhood and its thriving arts and culture center, Asian Arts Initiative, geared up for another fight. They had played this game before. The neighborhood has prided itself on defeating proposals over the years for a federal prison, a baseball stadium, and a casino.
