In May 2018 Asian Arts Initiative celebrated 25 years of art and community with a robust season of programming including 25+ commissioned works from artists of all disciplines, including the Then and Now exhibition, focused on exploring community-building and community-engaged arts with and within the Asian/American community in Philadelphia; and (ex)CHANGE, a series of site-specific projects responding to the current dynamics of our communities in neighborhoods around the city, funded by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, featuring artists: Tomie Arai and the Chinatown Art Brigade, Byron Au Yong and Aaron Jafferis, Sueyeun Juliette Lee, Boone Nguyen, Shahzia Sikander, and Rea Tajiri.
