Black + Gold Artists Exchange Pop-Up Exhibition

The Black + Gold Artists Exchange brings Black American and Asian American artists together to share stories and explore the connections between our communities through art and collaboration. The project will culminate in a pop-up exhibition, featuring work that reflects the rich, interconnected histories and experiences of Black American and Asian American communities in Philadelphia.

The participating artists include: Gina Kim, Kara Mshinda, Anula Shetty, and Marquis Wright-Lee. The project is co-curated by Romana Lee Akiyama and Michelle Myers, and Nina “Lyrispect” Ball serves as co-facilitator.

The exhibitions and programs will take place on November 14 and 15, 2026 at Asian Arts Initiative and Painted Bride Arts Center. Stay tuned for program schedules and details for both locations!
