Rami George: from every river to every sea

Born out of a deep disillusionment with the art world during a time of crisis, from every river to every sea (2026) is a vital, somatic re-indexing of the mass mobilizations for Palestine across the United States, specifically Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., between 2023 and 2024. Through inversions and layered digital manipulation, raw, handheld footage of public resistance is transformed into an experiential archive wherein the inverted footage of flags and flashes of police surveillance surrender to a new, unconditioned, and shocking vibrancy. Grounded in a commitment to SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) centered solidarity, the piece anchors the quiet, quotidian intervals of daily life within a broader, suffering, enduring resistance, charting a trajectory of re-grouping toward collective and decolonial futures.

Community Media Lab

Community Media Lab is AAI’s new curatorial initiative, transforming the passageway between the gallery and black box theater into a dedicated space for Philadelphia-based artists that cultivates communal resonance through the presentation of moving-image works.

This exhibition is curated by Cole Roberts and is presented as part of Collective Futures, a citywide festival taking place this Fall, bringing together more than 40 artist-run spaces and community arts organizations across Philadelphia.
