    The Wilma Theater

Eva Wu's three looping animations invite viewers to travel through the artist’s imagination toward a decidedly unconventional destination. Through their use of both virtual reality and vivid abstraction, Wu not only challenges people’s ordinary conception of perceptual experience, but also creates a new language of place and politics.

Eva Wu is a visual artist based in Philadelphia for the past decade. Their bold multimedia works span moving images, social practices, interactive installations, and collaborative projects. They delight in art as visionary future-telling, utopian spell-casting, public erotics, celebration, permission, color as political power, and remedies to uproot shame. Eva Wu currently teaches as Assistant Professor of Visual Studies at Haverford College.

The exhibition is curated by Joyce Chung, Curator at Asian Arts Initiative on the occasion of Wilma’s presentation of The Good Person of Setzuan.
