Join us for the opening reception and panel discussion for a cyber-collective project initiated by Frank WANG Yefeng!

Opening Reception: 6-9PM
Panel Discussion: 6:30-8PM

Avatopology 2.0 asks what kinds of connection can emerge amid the precarity of the digital world. Moving between collaboration and constraint, the project traces how online networks create new possibilities for labor and exchange while obscuring certain forms of subjectivity, authorship, and participation. Through a decentralized chain of image-making, Frank WANG Yefeng collaborated with 33 internet-based creators to produce portraits of himself, each shaped by the interpretations of others.

Panel Discussion: In conjunction with the opening reception for the exhibition, AAI will host a panel discussion featuring Lucas Blalock and Triton Mobley. Together, the artists will explore how the rapid development of technology continues to challenge established understandings of art and human experience. The conversation will consider the diverse social and cultural conditions through which technological systems and artistic practices take shape, while examining how different experiences of producing art might contribute to rethinking technology today.
